In July 2013, I opened the doors of The Slomin Family Center to answer a need in the community for families touched by autism and related disabilities. What a wonderful five years it has been, but regrettably, The Slomin Family Center will be closing effective May 24, 2018, the end of the school year.

As autism affects families of all socio-economic backgrounds, I was determined that my Center be affordable for all. Five years later, financial realities make it impossible for me to sustain the Center. Unfortunately, the demand and funding for our services were not sufficient to continue operating.

The Center has been a labor of love for all of us involved, and I could not be more proud of the impact it has made for those who have come through our doors. It has been both gratifying and rewarding to know the difference made...

connecting the pieces, one child, one family at a time.

We stayed true to our mission of improving the emotional and physical well-being of children and families touched by autism spectrum disorder. We have always embraced excellence, integrity, collaboration, discovery and warmth in all we have done.

Although the doors of the Center are closing, my personal commitment to children and families touched by autism will continue. I remain committed to supporting other quality organizations that have a similar mission and vision, some of which have contributed to the excellence of the Center over the years.

I want to personally thank all of our volunteers, donors and community partners for your support. You have made a tremendous difference.

Warmest regards,

Sandy Slomin
